The World Don't Move To The Beat Of Just One Drum; What Might Be Right For You Might Not Be Right For Some.

With my revised Indian itinerary, I'm currently in Khajuraho, which is famous for it's many temples built around 950-1050 AD, and for the erotic sculptures depicted on them. The temples are quite impressive; apparently the Muslim invaders never found these idolatrous monstrosities to destroy. Internet connections aren't fast enough for me to upload pictures, so you'll have to wait a few days (maybe in Agra?) to see some India pics. Speaking of Agra, my new schedule for India involves me leaving for Orchha tomorrow, then going to Gwalior, Agra, Jaipur, Delhi, and finally Kolkata where I'll go to either Bangladesh, Myanmar, or straight to Bangkok. That'll have to be a game-day decision. Anyway, I've decided to cut my time in India short because one month isn't nearly enough time to spend in India--I'm going to need to come back and spend a full six months here--and this will give me more time in Southeast Asia.

Anyway, India has been a blast so far, in more ways than one. For someone who likes Indian food as much as I do, every street is like a smorgasborg with the street vendors selling samosas for a nickel among many other cheap Indian culinary treats like curries, dosas, utapams, pakoras, briyanis, tandoori chicken, etc. Restaurants have full meals sometimes as cheap as $0.40. And I never tire of Indian food, either. The problem of course can be hygiene. I'm just getting over yet another bout of traveler's diarrhea. For those of you keeping score at home, that's four in the bacterial diarrhea column and one for giardia. Every time this happens, I tell myself that I'm going to be more careful about what I eat, no raw fruits or vegetables that I didn't peel myself, only eat meat from upscale places, etc. But after a few days, I forget about how bad I felt and start eating anything and everything again. And Indian food gets to be quite heavy as do I when I eat this much of it. And I can't imagine that it's going to get any better; I love Thai food maybe even more than Indian food. At least I walk a lot, that's kind of like exercise.
